Carob Savory Seasoning Recipe

Carob Savory Seasoning Recipe

Homemade seasoning blends are one of the easiest ways to add character to everyday cooking. This Carob Savory Seasoning brings together classic dried herbs and warm spices with the natural aroma of BallıÇubuk carob powder. The result is a versatile seasoning blend that can be used with meat, chicken, fish, vegetables, soups, sauces and snacks. In this recipe, carob powder adds a lightly sweet, warm and roasted note to the seasoning. Thyme, basil and rosemary bring an aromatic herbal base, while smoked paprika, ginger, black pepper and a touch of cayenne create a balanced savory flavor. Instead of one strong taste taking over, all the ingredients work together to support the dish. You can use this Carob Savory Seasoning as a rub for meat, a finishing spice for roasted vegetables, a flavor booster for soups and sauces, or a delicious topping for homemade chips, popcorn and fried vegetables. Stored in a glass jar, it becomes a practical seasoning you can keep ready in your kitchen.

Ingredients for Carob Savory Seasoning

Makes 1 small jar*

4 tablespoons BallıÇubuk carob powder
2 tablespoons dried thyme
2 tablespoons dried basil
2 tablespoons dried rosemary
2 tablespoons smoked sweet paprika
1 tablespoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon finely ground salt
1 teaspoon matcha green tea powder
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper

Preparation

Place the dried thyme, dried basil, dried rosemary and salt in a spice grinder.

Grind for a few seconds until the herbs become finer.

If you do not have a spice grinder, you can use a mortar and pestle.

Transfer the ground mixture to a small bowl.

Add the BallıÇubuk carob powder, smoked paprika, ground ginger, matcha, black pepper, onion powder and cayenne pepper.

Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.

Transfer the carob seasoning blend to a clean and dry glass jar.

Close the lid tightly and store in a cool, dry and dark place.

Use it to season meat, chicken, fish, seafood, vegetables, soups, sauces, salads and snacks.

Recipe Notes

This seasoning keeps its aroma better when stored in a dry, airtight glass jar.

For a stronger carob flavor, add 1 extra tablespoon of carob powder.

For a spicier blend, increase the amount of cayenne pepper.

If you do not want to use matcha, you can leave it out.

You can use regular sweet paprika instead of smoked paprika.

For a simple meat marinade, mix olive oil, salt and this seasoning blend.

It pairs beautifully with roasted potatoes, grilled vegetables, mushrooms, chicken, fish, lamb, beef and legumes.

You can also sprinkle a small amount over homemade popcorn or baked chips.
